BELGIAN CHILDREN'S FUND
THE .SCHOOLS' EFFORT. ■So far the following amounts have been handed in to the Mayor (Mr. J. I*. [Luke) from the various schools, which made such a fino effort to collect funds for the relief of their little Bslgiau comrades oiv Thursday, and Friday last. As will be seen there are still a number of schools outstanding, which are known to have made collections, but these had not readied tlio Mayor yesterday afternoon. Hardy 0 S 3' Total to date ... 299 4 9j Tlie_ children of the Island Bay School, confining themselves to their own district entirely, raised £30 for the fund. The collections of the Mount Cook schools for November 5, in aid of the Belgian children, total £130 lus. 9d. This sum is made up as follows Girls' School, £03 18s. Id.; Boys', £46 17s. Bd.; and the Infants' Department, £20. Included in the girls' total is a cheque for £5 from Captain F. Holm.
