For the former Downes took four wickets tor J; Jickhold, two lor G. Dunedin (138 for four wickets) beat Albion (131). . . , St. ICihla (111), beat Carisbrook (101), batting two men short. For Carisbrook, Siedeterg made 4J. Auckland, Jiovphber 6. The cricket season opened to-day in very windy weather. Results:— _ University 115 (Turnbott, six wickets for 22), v. Parnell, G4 for five wickets. Grafton, 120 (Robinson 36). v. Ponsonby, 120 for two wickets (F. Tnylor 73 not ° U ]3den. 343 for seven wickets (BrookSmith 140, Hemus 102), v. North Shore.
