RAIN STORM PREVENTS PLAY
Owing to the soaking effect of tlie phenomenal rain-storm early on Saturday morning, moat of the City bowling clubs closed their greens for play, and, in most cases, the first of the Pennant matches were postponed until Saturday next. Owing to the wet state of the bowling greens at Lower Hutt .and Petone no games were played on Saturday.'
