WAR PENSIONS BOARD. Sir,—l don't know if the general pub. lie are taking much interest in tho proceedings of the War Pensions Board, hut I noticed that at last meeting of tba board a widow was refused any pension on the ground that she had means of support. [ think, Sir, it should be made compulsory to give everv soldier's widow a pension. Even if the widow I have referred to had ample means, surely she is entitled to compensation for tho loss of her husband. She gives him to the country and should be recompensed. Our Patriotic Society should take up and endeavour to get the present system altered. As it stands it is uot fair to the women or to dependents. —I atn, etc., NEW ZEALANDER,
