NEW DUTIES

COMING INTO FORCE ON MONDAY. The Commissioner of Stamps supplies the following information about the new stamp duties to come into force on Monday next. He refers also to the totalisator tax, which, is not a stamp duty. The principal alterations are a 6 follow:— ' New duty. Receipts 2a. Totalisator dividend tax •••••■— i 6d. in every pound of dividend For the purpose of assessing the totalisator duty the dividend is the amount paid! into the totalisator on any race after the deduction of 10 per cent.
