As the result of the patriotic concert held on Saturday evening last the sum of £18 is being handed over to the Red Cross Fund. The gross takings amounted to £21. The programme contributed by Wellington visitors met with a- most enthusiastic reception, every item being encored. The winning ticket in the art union for a, handsome opal ring -was held by Mrs. Mackie, of Oroua Road, Eastbourne. The win was both popular and appropriate, as Mrs. Mackio has five sons at the front. HUTT VALLEY CONTRIBUTION; ' As result of a. house-to-houso canvass made by the ladies of Petone in aid of the Red Cross Eund, tho sum of £88 10s. lid. was oollected. Upper Hutt contributed £13 12s. 2d. of the amount.
