THE BATTLE OF LOQS 'A GERMAN NARR ATIVE. (Rec. October 25, 0.20 a.m.) Amsterdam, October 23. The "Berliner Tageblatt," describing tho battle at loos, says the British bombardment was terrific. "Our excellent trenches were, blown in holes, and the entanglements diredded. Gas-banks crept towards us in a succession of waves, when suddenly from behind the fourth cloud the British emerged in thick lines, The storming columns seemed to arise from the earth, and they wore masks, resembling devils and not soldiers. For a long time thereafter no news reached the divisional headquarters, the wires being destroyed. The adjoining division reported a- gas attack on their first line, which was stormed. Finally came the news that tho British had succeeded in storming our division's first trenches."
