TRAINING CAMP NEWS
It is considered in military circles that Colonel V. S. Siuyth, who has just returned to. New Zealand from England, will bo givon> high appointmont in the Now Zealand, Ritlo Brigade. Colonel Smyth was formerly in command of the Canterbury military district, and beforo that in command of the Otago military district.
At Trentham camp the following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp' Commandant: — Pte. W. Chappell. to be sergeant dispenser while employed in the hospital dispensary; Pte.' S. It. Billett, to be sergeant'while employed as carpenter: Pte. C. B. Langridge, to bo corporal while'employed as carpenter; Pte. R. I. Simpson, to be corporal; Pte. E. W: Tabor, to. bo corporal; Sergt. J. The president and stewards of the Wellington Racing Club have extended an invitation' to all officers and men in camp at Trentham to attend to-days races. At Tauherinikau Camp. Captain S. Watson lias been appointed Presbyterian chaplain. Lieutenant A. A. E. Flohr has been transferred from Headquarters Staff to A Squadron, Bth Reinforcements. Temporary appointments of N.C.O.'s have been approved' by the Camp Commandant (Major N. P." Adams) as follow : — t . Headquarters Staff. To be sergeants, Cpls, E. R. Woledge, L. B.
