BOWLS

In oacb case tho opening will be performed by "the president soon after 2 o'clock, In addition to tho clubs mentioned, tho Kelbuni Club will open its new green to-day. This is rather a notablo event in bovling in Wellington, as it is the first bowling green which has been laid down on Town Belt land leased from the City Formerly tho club's green was immediately at the back of the University, and miller a hill which cast its shade all too soon over tho sward'. This block was sold, and the club has secured a very good site on the hills to the south-west of the University. A capital green lias been laid out, and judging from appearances it should be an enjoyable 0110 to play 011. The club has also had the foresight to erect a commodious clubhouso at tho same time as tho green was put down. This consists of a largo locker room below and a social V all above. Tho Thorndou Club's green will also bo available for play this afternoon.
