S.P.C.A.'s GOOD WOEK. That their task is one that is a great deal ruoro comprehensive than would be generally supposed by tho ordinary person is made clear in a letter received by the local society from the parent body in London. Thirty ambulances had been found, and all manner of other things necessary to the rapid prosecution of the humane work had been readily provided. The local society were thanked for their donation of .£lO for the above object, and, the letter pointed out, further contributions ,wouUl perhaps be forthcoming if tho public were mado acquainted with the ■ magnitude and necessity of the work undertaken.
