ONSLOW WATER SCHEME

The Onslow Borough Council held another meeting on Thursday to consider the report of Mr, J. E. Fulton on the proposed water scheme for Onslow. There were present the Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) and Councillors J. C. Gardner, A. W. C. Palmer, L. A. Browne, 11. Brenton-Rule, C. Bowden, J. M. Dale, A: .E. Budd, W. Appleton, and J. G. Smith. . 'The council, in continuing with the report, went 'on to discuss the third clause relative to the catchmcnt' area. Tho clause evoked an animated discussion, chiefly concerning the rainfall of the district. Councillors Appleton and Budd remarked that whero Mr.' Fulton based his report on an average rainfall of four inches for two months, I)he average in reality did not reach two inches in many instances. ' After' two hours' discussion clause three was adopted, subject to the verification of certain of its passages. Tho. meeting then adjourned to October 14.
