GOVERNMENT DEFEAT IN HOUSE OF LORDS
■ OVER WAR, PENSIONS BILL. Telegraph—Press Assoctation-CoDyrlglii (Rec. September 25, 1.25 a.m.) ' London, September 24. A Government defeat in tlie House of Lords on the War Pensions Bill resulted from Lord. Devenporfc's amendment' eliminating the Royal ' Patriotic Fund Corporation from the committee which is administering the war pensions which was carried by 35 votes to 26. ' It is expected that the House of Commons will reject tho amendment becanse it upsets a feature of the scheme.
