MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD. _ At the monthly meeting of the "Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday there wero present: Tho chairman (Mr. H. Luke, G. J. Pothcrick, and W. J. Thompson. A report from the Hospital Committee stated 'that tho following scale of salaries for tho resident medical staff had been adopted, salary to commence at £150 per annum, with increases of £50 half-yearly to the maximum of £250. This scale had been submitted to the Inspector-General of Hospitals, who communicated with the boards in tho other three centres, suggesting thoy should adopt tho samo scale. Tho report was adopted by the board. _ Authority was given for the installation of certain hot-water service pipes, etc. and'T. Burt, £85 10s.); overhead "bridge for hot-water pipes (A. A. Kenner, '£21 4s. Gd.); supply tanlcKland (A. A. Rcnuer); copper coil cylinder (Jenkins and Mack, £79); for the laundry two new trucks, six extra bins, three benches, six clothes-baskets, and three additional lights. ' Tile chairman of the special committee, which had been set up to consider the question of the hot-water service at Otaki Sanatorium, reported that the committee had conferred with the consulting engineer, Mr. J. Anderson in connection with the hot water service at Otaki Sanatorium, and recommended that tenders be invited for the installation of a new boiler, No. 12 D. capacity, 110 gallons per. hour, etc., and for alterations to the circulating copper .cylinder, new pipe service to all the bathrooms, etc. /rile estimated cost of the work was £90.
