UPPER HUTT DISASTER FUND
« — , The, moneys comprising the Upper Hutt "Disaster Fund were some time ago paid to the Public Trustee, the management of the fund, however, remaining in the committee appointed to deal with, the fund, and consisting of the Mayors of Wellington and Miramar and Mr. P. J. O'llegan. The committee has been desirous of being relieved of the management of the fund, and requested tho Public Trustee somo little time ago to apply to tlie Supremo Court for an order appointing him trustee of tho fund in their stead. On the Public Trustee's petition an ordor lias now been made by His Honour the Chief Justice appointing the Public Trustee sole trustee of tlie fund, and directing him to apply the capital and income of tlio fund in such manner in all respects as he shall from time to time think fit for the benefit of the persons dependent on the fund, having regard always to the circumstances of each of such beneficiaries. 1
