EASTBOURNE AFFAIRS
4 j — The monthly meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Councd was held on Friday, the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Kelly), presiding. It was decided to refer tho question of 'purchasing a farther area of the foreshore to a sub-committee. Instruction was given to the Public Works Committee to report on a proposal submitted for the installation of a gas-lighting plant in the borough. A report was received from tho Ferry Board that. •it was inquiring from tha Town ClerTt on the subject of a parcel delivery system. There was considerable discussion regarding the question of freights by the ferry steamers,' and notice of motion was given by Councillor Heenaii "That tho Eerrv. Board be instructed to report on the-advisability of .framing a new schedule." : It was decided to refer to the Reserves Committee tho question of tho increasing danger of the spread of gorse.
