ISLAND BAY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Hie annual meeting' of the .Tn Memorial Presbyterian Church, Island Bay, was held on Wednesday evening, the Rev. R. Wood presiding over a good attendance. Tho session report, Managing Committee's Teport, the Ladies' Sewing Guild report, and the. balancesheet were prescntea. The session report stated that attendance at Church services had increased during the year, and new work had been started. The Managing Committee reported that' the work had been seriously dislocated by the burning of the .church, but this blow had resulted in good, inasmuch as it had led to the reinstatement of the damaged church and the formation of a new church building fund, llh'o Sabbath School report showed 108 on tho roll. A youths' Bible Class had been formed by Mr. Wood. The congregational balance-sheet showed that the ordinary expenditure had been met, and the year closed witli a credit balance. The fund for the restoration of tho damaged church showed that tho insurance money, £270, would pay all tho expenses incurred and leave a small balance. The new church building fund 'Showed that £260 had been promised or paid up to date. The reports, were adopted. It was resolved that a hearty vote of thanks and appreciation be accorded to the Rev.' R. Wood for the spiritual stimulus given to the congregation by his ministrations, and for tho great service ho had given the Building Committees in the matter of replacing the burned church and in gathering funds for the new church.
