W. ltussell) yesterday). • . ■ Mr. Russell said that as Minister of Defence Mr. Allen would have complete control of all soldiers from tlie date of enlistment until the date of their discharge. Mr. Allen would have control, therefore, of all military hospitals, and the medical staffs of such hospitals. Dr. Valintine would continue as director of Military Hospitals, and in that capacity would bo responsible to Mr. Allen. When General Henderson arrived he would, of course, relieve Dr. Valintine of this duty. Hie Minister of Public Health would attend to all wounded soldiers as patients on" their return, and would organise all hospital and medical services required for their treatment. Mr. Hertlman • would caro for_ soldiers after their discharge, providing them with employment, assisting them to go on the land, and organising educational facilities for those partly incapacitated.
