AN INQUEST AND THE SEQUEL
CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, August 18.. The adjourned inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of the late F. C. Bimis, -who died on Friday last from injuries received by being run over by a motor-car, was held today. After hearing the evidence the Coroner returned the following verdict: "That deceased ivas killed bv being knockcd down and run over by a motorcar, driven by one Pearce Power." At the subsequent sitting of the Magistrate's Court, Pearco Power was formally charged "that on the 13th day of August, at Christchurch, he did causo the death 9f Frederick Clias. Binns, and did thereby commit the crime of manslaughter." Accused pleaded not guilty, and on tlio application of the police a remand was granted for one week, hail being allowed accused in £300 and a surety in £300 or two in £150 each.
