'A NEW ORGANISATION. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, August 16. A number of public men, including Lord Denmau, the Bishops of Birmingham and Llandaff, BishopWelldon (Dean of Manchester), and Sir John Kirk, have signed a manifesto on behalf of a new organisation named "National Service." They declare that it is designed to assist tli© Government by means of publio meetings and resolutions, proving that the country is ready to support a. resolute policy on the basis of oquality of sacrifice and concentration of the national effort. The enumerators liavo not completed the collection of the registration forms, delays especially being noted in tho slum districts, where the tenements are empty during the day. Tho enumerators are revisiting them in_ the evening. Many women are exercising the privilege of posting their forms, to avoid giving .information to tho enumerator, who in many cases is a woman neighbour. Permission' to post tlio forms is calculated to encourage tho women to state tlieir correct ages.
