One of the substances that have been commandeered by tho Government is molybdenite, .a mineral used in certain processes for tlio toughening of steel. New Zealand produces molybdenite and also scheolite, a mineral from which tungsten is obtained, and tungsten is used in tho manufacture of special steels. In reply to a question as to whether the New Zealand Government contemplated taking anv action similar ,to that taken by the Federal Government, the Primo Minister said that the matter was already under consideration. Ho proposed to make arrangements by which sclieelito and molybdenite would be purchased by the New Zealand Government on behalf of the Imperial Government, exactly as frozen meat is purchased now.
