She is the guest of Mrs. Corkill, of Oriental Bay. Mrs. W. F. A very enjoyable social evening was .held m the Rechabite Hall, Manners btreet, on Monday, by the Pioneer Lodge No. 11, 1.0. G.T. A reunion of past and present members had been arranged, and many old members and friends were present, A very enjoyable programme was contributed to liy the following:—Pianoforte solo, Sister Campion; song, Mr. Dowues; song, Miss Halliburton; sons, Bro. Culverwell; banjo duet, Mr. Ilumble and Sister P. Richards; recitation. Miss Willis; song, Mr, Moyall- song, Miss Harmer; recitation, Miss E. Petlierick; song, Mrs. Abbott; recitation, Miss Rita M'Gee; song, Miss M'Gee. One of the outstanding features of the evening was the singing, recitations, and danc?ng of little Miss Rita. M'Gee. During tho evening light refreshments were handed round. Tho C.T., Bro. G. Peth« erick, presided over tho meeting, which was opened by all present singing tho National Anthem, and closed with "Auld Lang Syne." A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all who contributed to the evening. . Last evening at the. Petone, Church of Christ, a Young People's Mission evening was held, when the cantata, 'Sarubai," was given. The characters were well sustained, the musical portion being under the control of Mr. G.'Moore.

Davidson, of Rewa, to Miss Agnes Philip, second daughter of Mr. Alex Philip, Bridgend, Alford, Aberdeenshire. Tho Rev. B. P. Evans per''jrmed the ceremony, and Mr; Watt played the organ: Miss Olive Anderson was bridesmaid, and Mr. W. Smith, of Nukumaru, was best man..

The Victoria League of Canterbury, New Zealand, has decided to give *a machine-gun for the Expeditionary Forces, and aii appeal has been made to overy individual member and associate of the League to assist the movement. . !

A very pleasant farewell tea was given for Mrs. Harper at Miss Tendall's tea-rooms yesterday' afternoon by the committee of the Alexandra Home, The further end of the tea-room had been enclosed \witlf screens, and tho tables had been very prettily arranged 'with freesias, violots, and birch foliage. Mrs. Harper was presented with a bouquet of forgot-mo-nots and freesias, and with a suede leather travelling cushion, .accompanied with tho best, wishes of the committee for a very pleasant voyage and for her future welfare.

Last Thursday, in the Pioneer Club, another "chain tea" for raising funds for medical comforts for the troops was given by. a member of the club. A quantity of yellow and white narcissi decorated'tho room and tea-tables.' Amongst .many others were Mrs. Mestayer', Mrs; John Campbell, Mrs. Richmond Hursthouse, Mrs. A. R. Atkinson; Mrs.'Ritchie, Mrs. Zaohariah, Mrs. Ronaldson, Miss Maodonald, Mrs. Atkins, Mrs. Chilman, etc. Several ladies expressed •; their intention of giving "chain'teas.'-' '
