The chief of theso is the Motall Gesellschaft, of I'rankfort, and this again had two offshoots Merton's, of London, and the American Metal Company. . Merton's is registered as an English company. The total capital of the companies is £050,000, nearly half of which is held by German bankers. Doubtless Mertons has out off its German relations, but is nevertheless a unit of a huge German organisation controlling the metal market of the world.
