ATHLETIC STILL UNBEATEN

SELWYN GO UNDER

Athletic maintained its unbeaten record on Saturday by defeating Selwyn. The scores wore considerably in ithletic's. favour—l 9 to B—but tlie gamo was fairly evenly contested. In the first spell Athletic led by 14 to 3. M'Carlio was the first to score for tho winners, and a little later W. Roberts kicked a penalty goal for Selwyn. Athletic, 3; Sehvyn, 3. Cunninglanio scored for Athletic, nnd Medden converted, and then Barry scored. So, at half-time, Athletic led by 1-1 to 3. Early in the second spell Osborn obtained a* try for Athletic, and, as Madden converted it, Athletic led by 10 points to 3. Before the game concluded Sehvyn reduced this lead by 19 to 8, through Lo-' mas obtaining a try, which M'Pliee converted. Tho final scores were: Athletic, 19; Selwyn, 8. Mr. It. Pordyce was referee.
