HOCKEY
GAMES AT KARORI. Hockey championship games were coiltinued at ICarori Park on Saturday. The weather was fine, though the surface of the grounds was soft. The three senior games were keenly contested and of an interesting nature. The following are tho results of the various games played:— . Senior. After an even and exciting game St. Augustine's defeated Wellington by i goals to 2. Taylor was responsible for three of the winning team's points, and A. Weblcy for the fourth. ' Waugh and Ashwin. were tho scorers for Wellington. Karori (8) had a victory over Insurance (3). Stratton (5) and Hcaphy (3) were responsible for the winners* score, and Strack (2) and Rix for Insurance's. . United had a win over Ramblers, whom they defeated by 3 goals to 1. Atkinson, Fallow, and Parfitt scored for United, Junior. St.. Augustine's (4) overcame Karori B (0). Fowler (2), Gawin and Simmonds were the, sCbi-ers. College®, playing practically a, scratch team, fell victims to Hutt Valley being defeated by i goals to 3. A. Smith (2) and Fraser (2) scored for the winners. LADIES' GAMES. Ladies' games resulted as follow:— University defeated College by 3 goals to nil. Misses Carrick (2) and Dobbyn scored. A feature of the game was the brilliant play of Miss Skinner for College. Ramblers A had a runaway victory over Huatahi, whom they beat by twelve goals to nil. All the forwards in the winning team participated in the scoring. Junior. College B; playing five short, were vanquished by University. . The final score was 6—o. To Aro won by default from Technical College. GAMES IN AUCKLAND. ■ (By Telegraph.—Presß Association.)
