NATIONAL RESERVE
THE HATAITAI SECTION.
The weekly parade of the Hataitai portion of B Company, 2nd Regiment, was held in the Poneke Gymnasium on Monday evening, when 70 men paraded. The four sections were exercised for an hour under their respective commanders, after which the company was put through a short course of, physical drill, with arms, under Lieutenant Davis. Major Amos, after parade, called for cheers from the company_ for Sergeant Gaudin and the competition squad, as well as the instructor,. Lieut. Davis, for the highly creditable performance put up on Saturday last,' when the squad carried off the flag at Newtown Park, expressing the great pleasure all felt at their men heading tno list. 'The non-com.'s class, which has been in abeyance for some little time, will be resumed on Wednesday evening next, and all those men who wish to qualify for non-com.'s rank are expected to attend, as well as those who already wear the stripes. ' _ . In all, four members of-the Hataitai subdivision, have enlisted, two of them attaining rank.
