FIGHTING VALUE OP THE GERMAN
MANY OF THE CUT-AND-RUN TYPE. (Rec. June 24, 9.10 p.m.) Paris, June 24. An officer who was wounded at Neuville states tliat while acts of extraordinary courage are frequent among the Germans, their military value is lowered by the large admixture of bourgeois, Socialists, and Intellectuals, who have trained since the war began. He himself saw two hundred Germans fly before thirty-five French, who came up to the rescue of five of their comrades. Nine hundred of the 161 st Prussian Infantry, absolutely fresh troops, who had motored from Lillo, surrendered the evening they arrived in the trenches.
