It is reported that a traveller for an American firm with an agency in New Zealand has been in Christchurch offering Canadian (lour at about £17 per ton delivered. Advice has been received that the Government have prohibited the export of potatoes. A large quantity of potatoes is now awaiting shipment to Sydney, and morchants are anxious to know whether they will te allowed to fill contracts entered into or not.
