Dr. Sandaton, wlio recently changed his name from Saudstein, applied to tko Government for passports, as ho contemplated going Home and offering his services to the War Office. On June 1 he received tho following from tho TJn-der-Secretary for Internal Affairs: — "Your letter has been placed before the Minister, who, under the circumstances, agrees to the issuo of passports in your oricinal name." In response to an objeotion, he received next day the following telegram:—"Government unable to recagniso chango of name during war. and therefore will only issue passport in your original name."
