ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, May 29. The weather was showery and cold for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. A lot of work was registered. The track was a little on the heavy side, ijoulltikoff, Tragedy King, and Prince Soult went a round on the grass in lmin. 57 _3-ssec. King Chiara did six furlongs in lmin. 23Jsec. Tact was better than Zion over four furlongs in 52sec. Bluestone galloped five furlongs on the grass in Imm. sJsec. Hima was better than Nioomar over six furlongs on the sand in lmin. 19Jsec. Blue Garment and Stepinpaul were together a length in front of Waimaugu after a round on the grass in lmin. 59} sec, Tripoli was going easier than Signo at the end of five furlongs on the sand in lmin. 6sec.
Tatfcerley easily beat Red Book over four furlongs on the sand in 52 3-ssec. Corrie and Emperador finished together at the end of a round on the grass in 2min. ilsec. El Gallo, on the sand, took 2min. Isec.
Crown Pearl and Haskayne were together two lengths in front of Hyettus at tthe end of six furlongs on the grasß in lmin. 21Jsec. Bimeter did four furlongs on the grass in 51sec.
Colonel Soult covered six furlongs on tho sand, the last five taking lmin. JJsec. Ladoga did steady pacing, and Jackman trotted on the /tan.
A lot of jumping was witnessed. Kaimanuka took six hurdles without a mistake.
Immensity went better than Hereford on the same task. Jolie Fille and Tara.ru Jack did the same work.
Monathol easily beat Black Bobs over five hurdles. JDandy Breeze, Birkful, aud Queen's Post set.out to jump six hurdles, Monaithol joining in over tho last five. Queen's Post fell-at the hurdle at the top of the straight,' the others fenced well. Monorail, Pip, Luperin, and Takauini finished in that order over five hurdles. Vascular and Master Regal did the same task
Royal Arms and Admiral Soult were together at the end of a gallop and seven hurdles.
General Webb, Golden Glow, Lady Sabretache, lrawadi, and Waimai were sent a round of the big country. Tho last-named fell at tho last obstacle; the others fenced well.
Morecambc, Cogger Bank, Styrax, Bercola, Sandy Paul, Nimblcfoot, Spokesman, Waterworks, and Black Northern, in company, went a round of tho big fences. Morecambe gave a great display of fencing, .and is now favourite for the Steeplechase.
Spokesman fell at the double. Black Northern refused to jump, and gave the worst exhibition yet given. Pairem and Atftntuatiq hid th# Q&ma task, both, falling flt the double, Bally-
gowan, Captain Loch, and Fleaway also schooled, Black Northern joining in. The latter stoppeJ again. Fireaway pulled up at the hill, tho cithers fencing well.
