MANAWATU HUNT CLUB
The opening run of the season was held at Uellovue Gardens, Lower Hutt, on Saturday afternoon, and, favoured by lino weather and the excellent condition of the ground, good sport resulted. Tlio hounds, under Huntsman Sexton, ran splendidly. Mr. C. F. Vallauce (Kaliuniiugi) was deputy-master, and Mr. B. l'\ Vallauco whip. Mr. Evison (Complexity) laid the drag. The following members took part m the afternoon's sport:—Miss Harris (Stonewall Jackson), Miss- Hayward (Waiwetu), Mrs. Campbell (Glaxo), Mrs. Bailey (Icicle), Miss M'Leay (Benzine). Miss Jenkinson (Angry), Messrs. Ewen (After Dark), Walker (l/aiilcy), G. Schmidt, Vallauce,.W. Dick (Lady), \\ r . Dick (Wainui), W. Burrows (Early Dawn), T. Seymour Jones, Vv. Adams (Grandee), P. I'arley, W. Walsh. C. France, N. H. Mackie, and several others. Members ana friends were entertained after the run bv Mr. J. O'Keefe at Bellevue Gardens. A number of members and others were enrolled for the mounted unit of the National Reserve. The next run will be held on June 12.
