SIR SYDNEY JOHNSTON GIVES £500. At Tuesday's meeting in the Town Hall when it was decided to start a National Fund for the relief of wounded soldiers and their dependents, Messrs. Jolin and Louis Blimdoll, of Wellington, promised to donate £1000 conditionally on ten other sums of .CuOO each being donated, Messrs. George SJ.i'rtoliffo and Martin Kennedy cacli gave £fioo, and yesterday tho Mayor (Jlr. J. I*. Luke) rocohed tho following telegram from Mr. Sydney JohnsUn, of Takapau, Hawke's Bay.—"Ha.c pleasure in giving £500 to receive lllundells' money." Messrs.
