LIVE STOCK SALES. Messrs. Dalgoty and Company, Ltd., rePort having iiold their first Hutt sale on ihnrsdny, when they offered a bmall yar<v lnjr of sheap and .a fair yarding of cattle. Competition was not brisk, but at the end of tho day a satisfactory clearance was effected at the undermentioned rates—Fullconditioned breeding ewes, 32*.; fat ewe £5 10s. to £6 Is.; springing cows. £5 to £7* springing heifere, to £7 10s.; yearling hcl' fen>. £2 10s. Lo £2 l'te.; full-conditioned empty cows, £2 18s. to £3; forward cows, £3 17s. to £5. At the conclusion of 'the sale a lamb donated by Master Ted Burroll, on account of tho Woynded Soldiers' Fund, was put up at auction several times, and oventually realised tho satisfactory b'um of £17.
At the I.evin salo on Friday, Mcesrs. Dalpcty and Go. report a, heavy yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. For good-conditioned sheep prices were a little harder than at previous sale. The cattle market was full, and although the majority of the yarding: was disposed of, owners had in a great many instances "to lower the reserves. The t>riheipal aalee effected woto as under:—4oo good-skinned fair-condition 2-tooth wethers, 17s. 9d,; fullcondition breeding ewes, 9s. to 10s. Zd.« email 2-tootk wethers, 155.; empty sturo Mvee, 10s. 9d. to lie., medium fat ewe ; , 19s 7d.: medium fat wothers, 225. 6d. Cattle: Two-year steers, £3 9s. 6d. to £3 15b.• 18-montli steers, £3 to. £3 45.; 18-month ficlfers, £2 6s. to £2 145.; 'tore cowe, £3 ss. to £3 7a. 6d.; springing cove, £5 Ifls. to £5 12s. 6d.
