HARRIERS
WELLINGTON' CLUB. The Wellington Harriers held their weekly run from Thormlon Baths on Saturday. A fair muster turned out, and E. G. Eagle and A. Pleasant laid a Rood trailj Captain T. Farrington being in charge of the pack. The trail led along the Esplanade, up through Queen's Park, to the top of Wadestown hills, and down into Wilton's Bush. A turn was then made towards Ngaio, the trail _ leading up to the heights overlooking Kaiwarra. The road was then taken down to Kaiwarra and _ back to tho starting point. A run-in over the last 600 yards resulted in a win for W. Donaldson, with T. Farrington second, and L. Culvcrwell third. The run nest Saturday is to be held from Miramar terminus. THE SCOTTISH CLUB'S BUN. The Scottish Harriers held their weekly run from the Kiosk, Seatoun, on Saturday. Paper was dispensed with, and in view ot next Saturday's race a non-stop run was held, a last pace being set by Vico-Captain Ballantyne. A splendid showing was made by tho novices, which predicts a fast and interesting race on Saturday In tho run-in Hutchison made the pace a cracker, but was displaced about twenty yards from home by E. Welch, who put in a splendid finish, It. Ballantyne filling third placo. Next Saturday the three-inile novice handicap will ho deckled at Miramar.
BROOKLYN CLUB. On Saturday afternoon the Brooklyn Harriers jonrnoyed out to Trentham The trail, well laid by Messrs. P. Wilton and R. Harvey, went round the steeplechase course to tho hack of the racecourse. The paper was here picked up. straight, was won by H Mio, with J. Douglas second, and E. Ford third. The men in camp did not take part, owing presumably to tho inclemency of the weather. The thanks of the club are duo to Mr. Whyte and to the carotakers of the racecourse. The run next Saturday will be from Russell's Tea Rooms, Kareri, and not Hutt as on tho syllabus.
OLYMPIC CLUB. Tlio Olympic Club journeyed to Miramar on Saturday afternoon for the purpose of deciding their novice handicap of one mile and a half. About six noncompetitors laid the trail over a good flat courso. The entries were rather disappointing, only six members facing tho starter (Mr. P. Hods on). The names and handicaps of the starters were as follow:—H. M'Cauley, scr.; G. Dixon, SOseo.; J. Wilson, 40sec.; W. Morris, SOsec.; D. Alabaster, 50sec.; Steptoe, 80sec. The limit man started off at a fairly fast pace, and maintained tho lead until about half the distance was covered, when he was displaced by D. Alabaster and W. Morris. These two were together when tho straight was entered, but W. Morris gradually forged ahead and won fairly comfortably by about 20 yards. H. M'Cauloy, the scratch man, ran third and gained the fastest time, covering the distance in 9min. 18 l-ssec. Next Saturday's run will ba from Thorndon Baths.
