The Press Bureau quotes a Berlin official statement, professedly based on British naval officers' letters, mentioning a naval figlit off Bergen on the night of April 7 and 8, whoa the battleitfnps Superb and Warrior were sunk and the battle-cruiser Lion was damaged. Other disasters are detailed, but the German Navy did not suffer anv loss. The Berlin statement adds: "The German Navy did not participate in any fight on the night mentioned, therefore, tho British ships were in conflict with eaclj other in the dailcness." Mr. Churchill (Firs; Lord of tho Admiralty) describes the nbo e as an absolute fabrication. It shows Germany's anxiety at the present moment to impress neutral States. (Roe. The High Commissioner reports London, May 11, 3.5. p.m. 'The Admiralty declares to be' fabrication the German statement by wireless that the battleship Superb sunk the battleship Warrior, the sinking being the result of North' Sea fights; while other cruisers arrived in the Tyne badly damaged, the Lion very badly. _ "The Admiralty also denies that British vessels fought each other, not recognising each other in darkness.
