OBITUARY
MR, FOLK COHEN. General regret will be felt at the news of the sudden death of Mr. Folk Cohen, an old and much-respected citizen of • Wellington, which oocurred shortly before 11 o'clock last night. Mr. Cohen came to Wellington from Australia as a young man, and took a very lively interest in' the Fire Brigade, of which, he" was a member for many years, and also the Wellington' Rowing Club, dnd other sporting bodies. In later years years still maintained an interest in the Brigade, through his connection with the Wellington Fire Police, and few and far between were the fires at which Mr. Cohen 1 was not promptly in attendance. In 1904 he was elccted of tho City Council, and retained ,his seat until . April, 1913, when ho was beaten by a narrow margin for' a place. For many years he had been the proprietor of a clothier's business in Willis Street. Mrs. Cohen, who was an active worker in the sphere of philanthropic endeavour. died some two years ago.. , The deceased gentleman leaves one daughter, Mrs. H. Cain, of Wellington.
