VICTORIA CROSS AWARDS London, April 19. The Victoria Cross has been awarded to the following:— Private llarber, of the First Grenadiers, who ran ahead of a grenade company at Nenve Cliapolle and throw bombs with sncli effect that a very great number of the enemy immediately surrendered. AVhen his comrades caino up Barber wns alone, iind the enemy wero surrendering all aroniul. Lance-Corporal Fnller, of the Ist Grenadiers, who, when quite a|ono and seeing the enemy escaping from a munication trench at Nouve Chapello, mslied forward and killed the leader with a bomb. Filly others, seeing that it was impossible to evade the bombs, surrendered. Lieutenant Cyril Martin, of the Engineers, ;iL Spanbroeliinolon, on March T'2, though wounded, led a grenade party to "the Clerman trenches and held lmi'|( I'rilU'ni-ecmuiW Jar twp uml n hstf hours.
Private Henry May, of the Ist Cameromaits, who, at La Boutillerie, on Octcbor 22, volunteered to rescue the wounded under heavy fire, and carried an officer a distance of three hundred yards. Private Tollerton, of the Ist Cameronian Highlanders, who on September 14, on the Aisne, carried a wounded officer to a place of greater safety. When the battalion retired Tollerton, though wounded, returned to the officer and lay beside him for three days, when both were rescued. ,
