THE LOSS OF THE El 5
TURKISH ACCOUNT (Rec. April 20, 9.25 p.m.) Amsterdam, April 20. The Turkish account of the sinking of tho British submarine El 5 states that the vessel left 'l'enedos at midnight, and dived after entering the 6traits to avoid tho searchlights. She grounded at 6.30 a.m., with her coining-tower showing. The lirst shell from the Turkish batteries struck the tower, killing tlie captain, and the second wrecked" tho machinery. The crew left tho vessel after three had been killed and seven mounded. The enemy's aeroplanes bombed.toe vessel to prevent 'her falling into Turkish hands. The Turks rescued the ciew.
