BOWLING
VICTORIA AND FEILDING. A party of four rinks of Victoria Club bowlers visited Feilding on Saturday to return a visit paid to. the City during tho Easter holidays by the country club. The weather was perfect and the green in spiendid order. The visit was made most enjoyable by the goodfellowship and hospitality displayed. Two games were played, one in the morning of 21 heads and one in the afternoon of 25 heads. Tho scores were: Morning: Victoria—Thomson, Evans, Davidson, Norwood (s.), 20. Feilding —Davidson, Haybittle, Burne, Chappell (s.), 20.' Victoria—Madeley, Young, Langdon, Fossette (s.), 30. . Feilding— Taylor, Guthrie, Mills', Mason (s.), 14. ODDFELLOWS AND RECHABITES
One of the most friendly of friendly games was fought 'out on Saturday afternoon amidst pleasant surroundings upon the Hataitai bowling green, between teams representing the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows and the Rechahite Order, which resulted in an easy win for the Oddfellows:—The following are • the scores:—Oddfellows—Avery, Smith, Kershaw, Powell (s.), 27; Ramsay, Clark, William, Berry (s.), Uhcesman, Salek, Godber, Bland (s.), 25. Rechabites—Bennett, Handley, Gaudin, Kitto, 17; Fathers, Gaudih, Jeffreys, Ward, 10; Anstey, Haines, Johnson, Betty, 13. Totals—Oddfellows, 90; Rechabites, 46. The veteran Oddfellow, J. Smith, voiced the satisfaction of the Oddfellows that a game had been arranged, and the pleasure each one had and expressed the lope that this was the first of an annual meeting. These gatherings created the best of good fellowship. Mr. T. Fathers, on behalf of the Rechabites, acknowledged the kind sentiments expiessed. Each team expressed the wish that noxt season an earlier start should be made, llio teams joined in heartily in thanking the Hataitai Club for the use of the green, and joined in singing "l'or Jliey are Jolly Good Fellows." ' PETONE FERNS. At Petono green the following contest took place for the Club Ferns:—Holders—Curtis, Battersby, Melhuish, Stephens (s.), 38; Challengers—Dixon, Allan, Doneghue, Wearne (s.), 12.
