A CARRY-ON POLICY

PUBLIC WORKS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, April 6. Mr. Holman (Premier of New South Wales), at the Labour League Conference, distributed a minute regarding his dealings with the Norton Griffiths scheme, pointing out that owing to stringency in financial matters, it had been utterly impossible to float loans in London in order to carry on public works after November. This would mean the immediate discharge of 20.000 men. The adoption of the Norton Griffiths' proposals by the Government would enable it to continue work until May, 1916, when local loans and other auxiliary financing would enable it to carry out the w'hole of the public works in that year.
