DUG D'ORLEANS OFFERS TO JOIN FRENCH ARMY. (Rec. March 31, 5.50 p.m.) London, March 30. The French Premier, M. Viviani, has informed the Duo d'Orleans that it would be impossible to alter the law of exile to permit of his entry into the French Army—("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) The Due d'Orleans is the head of tlie Bourbon Royal House of France. Born at York House, Twickenham, Middlesex, in 1869, the duke married in 1896 tlio Archduchess Mario Dorothea of Austria. In 1886 bo was exiled from France; he returned to Paris some time afterwards, but later was aeain pxpelled._ The duke at one time-held a commission in the 60th Riflps, and served in India in 1888 and 1889.
