The Farmers' Co-op. Organisation Society of. New Zealand, Hawera, report:—We held our opening sal© at Opunake on March 22, Our yards were quite inadequate to hold the stock that came forward, but, thanks to the kindness of tho Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., we were able to fill their yards also. Just over 2000 head. of cattle were yarded, the great bulk of which wae sold. Bidding was very brisk throughout the sale, every claee of cattle, with the exception of weaner heifers, being eagerly competed for. The following were some of the prices realised for the different classes of cattle:—-Grown steers,- £7 10s., £6 155., £6 10s.. 1 £6 Bs. 6d.; eighteen-monthe steers, £4 5e., £4 3s„ £3 195., £3 135.; do. heifers, £3 2s. 6d., £3, £2 145., £2 12s. 6d.; heifers (r.w.b.V. good, £3 155.; weaner steers, £2 35., 355., 31s. 6d. r 275. 6d.. 255.; cow 6, fat, £9 165., £9 Us., £9, £8 19s;, £8.175., £8 (Is., to £8 2s. 6d.; cows, • forward, from £7 to £5, according to Sfze and condition; bulls. £14, £11, £10 "7s. 6d., £10 55., £9 155., £9 10s.. £8 10s.
