KILLED IN ACTION
PETONE MAN'S DEATH. Advice has been received in Wellington that Private John AValinek, who at the outbreak of war was a resident of Petone, has been killed in action. Private AValinek was an army reservist, and shortly after the commencement of hostilities he was called upon to proceed to England to prepare to (jo to the front. lie left Wellington 111 the Corinthic on October 10, and subsequently proceeded to the . AVestern theatre of war with the Scottish Rifles. This week a cablegram was received stating that 110 bad succumbed to wounds received in the firii^-line. Airs. AValinek, deceased wife, lives at Petone.
