(By Telegraph—Press Association.) ' Chrlstchurch, March 26. ; At the Canterbury Earn Fair to-day there was a dull Bale of all but English Leicester rams. The: range, of ( prices was':—English Leicesters, ojgns. and 38}gns.; Border Leicester*,- Sgns, to 60gns.: Southdowns,'7jgris. to lOgns.; ShrOpsnires, 16igns. The top price was GOgns. for a; Border Leicester ram bred by T. S.. I/ittlo, Ngapora, and Isaao| Andrew, Ellesmere, sold the highest-, priced English Leicester at 38Jgns. LOCAL . ?— Advice has been received, says a Press. Association :telegram.' 'from Auckland, that as a result of the appeal made by Commissioner Rodder, of the Salvation Army, for £10,000 to assist the Army, in England in : housing refugees from Belgium' and caring for wounded -soldiers,• the people of New Zealand have subscribed' • £11,500. • This amount . was cabled to London, and General BramTrell Booth, in acknowledging 'the gift," says it has removed a heavy burden and placed New Zealand, in the front'rank of the Army's helpers.
