JOTTINGS FROM PROVINCIAL CENTRES. (From Our Special Correspondents.) MASTERTON. A meeting of the Wairarapa Presbytery is to be held at Greytown to-dav to consider the call of the Rev. A. Thompson, of Masterton, to Cbristehurcru The installation of the automatic telephone sendee in Masterton will be completed in tho course of a few months. The- representative of tho Western Electric Company made a start with the'erection cf tno plant on Tuesday. _ ■ . At a meeting of the Central Committee of tho Wairaraoa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board on Tuesday estimates for the various hospitals in tho district were prepared for submission to the next meeting of the board. The Masterton Borough Council decided on Tuesday evening to lease its endowment, between Eketahuna and Alfredton in one block, for a period of fourteen years, no compensation to be allowed for improvements. At the Supreme Court on Tuesday, a.' decree nisi was granted by Mr. Justice Stringer in the Greytown divorce suit, Holdcroft v. Holdcroft and Hall. The respondent was ordered to pay costs.
