At a recent meeting of the Petone Society fdr the Health of Women and Children, Mrs. R. C. Kirk presiding, the Plunket Nurse reported eight new cases during the past two months, So visits had Been paid to the Plunket rooms, and 72 cases were at present under the care of the nurse. As, a result of the recent successful garden party held at tho residence of Mrs. G. H. Scales, the committee was enabled to meet all its liabilities, and all who assisted at . this function the committee heartily thank. It was agreed to for-' ward a letter of condolence to Mrs. M'Pherson in respect to sad bereavement, and it was dccided that the president and secretary should wait upon the Mayor of Lower Hutt (Mr. H. Baldwin) asking that a public meeting should be called, to ascertain the views of residents in respect to the support of a nurse for the Hutt and Petone districts. Mr. TT. IS.
