ZEPPELIN RAID ON FRENCH CAPITAL
DISAPPOINTED PARISIANS (Hqc. March 24, 5.26 p.m.) London, March 23. The Parisians wore bitterly disap[wintod oyer the Zoppeliu raid. Despite Uio warning bugles, people stormed into the street to gaze anxiously into thu darkness. Yv'lien the theatres emptied patrons had grout, difficulty in reaching ilioir homes on account of the Stygian blackness which followed the extinguishing of the lights. It appears that the Zoppelins divided into two groups, and endeavoured to ilv over the city. When the French aeroplanes attacked them they disappeared, and the authorities reported that the danger had ended, but tlio Germans, instead of withdrawing, circumnavigated Paris and returned for a second attempt. They were immediately and the visitors then cleared off.—-"Times" and Sydney "Sun" services. OTHER FUTILE ATTEMPTS. Paris, March 23. Besides the Zeppelin that appeared over V illers-Cotterets others attempted to reach l'aris, but the attempt proved harmless. It is believed French aeroplanes drove them oil. Forty-eight bombs were dropped on Paris during the Saturday raid. TWO NEW ZEPPELINS. (Rec. March 25, 1.30 a.m.) London, March 24. It is believed that a new Zeppelin has left Friedrichshafen, and that another has almost been completed.
