TRADE COMMISSIONER FROM JAPAN
COMING NEXT WEEK. The Japanese Consul in Wellington (Mr. T. Young) has written to the Wellington Chamber of Commerce as follows:—. _ ''With rega!rd to the Chamber's invitation to the members of the Japanese Trade Commission to address tnem upon the subject of their mission, the Commission will consist of Mr. Jissei Miura, secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Commerce, in Japan; Mr. M. Chtani, commercial student in the same Department; and Messrs. Y. Nishida and T. Kitanama merchants, of Japan. The members will arrive here by the Ulimaroa on March SO from Sydney, and will proceed the same day to Christchurch, returning to Wellington on April 2, and remaining until the 7tli. Mr. Miura's hesitation in accepting tile Chamber's kind invitation to address it on the subject of his mission only arises from his rather imperfect acquaintance with the English language. If, however, the Chamber will be good enough to perririt him to read a few prepared remarks he will bo prepared to do so."
The chairman proposed that they should lunch the Commission on the Tuesday they arrived, and hold a meeting at about 3 o'clock the same afternoon. The boat would be in early, perhaps the night before, as it would be necessary to get her away again before Good Friday. The course proposed by Mr. Jones was adopted.
