THE LATE BISHOP GRIMES
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. (By Tclograph.—Press Association.) Christohuroh, March 21. The body of tho late Bishop Grimes will' arrive liere on Wednesday. The representatives of the Cathedral and St. Mary's parishes will attend at tho railway station and meet the steamer train'on its arrival with the body. Representatives of Catholic schools and Catholic institutions aud the Hibernian Society will bear the body from the train to the hearse, which will, convoy the remains of the late Bishop to tho Cathedral, to lie in stato till the following morning, when the funeral will take place. Arrangements are being made for the obsequies aext Thursday. Pontifical Mass will he celebrated at the Cathedral at 10 a.m., after which, the interment will take place. In addition to Archbishop O'Shea and Bishop Cleary, Bishop Verdon, of Dunedin, will be present, and also a large number of priests from the 'Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin diacoses. The work of constructing the vault has begun; the site selected is in the Chapel of Holy Sou's, a part of the Cathedral, for which the late Bishop Grimes had a special devotion. It is situated in the north-oastern portion of the Cathedral.
Sympathetic references to the death of Bishop Grimes were made in the Catholic Churches of the .City yesterday. ■ At the close of the evening devotions the "Dead March" was played, the congregations standing.
