THE INTER-CLUB CONTESTS.

Two important inter-club lawn tenniß contests were decided on the Brougham Hill Club's courts on Saturday. These were tlie finals for the ladies' senior championship and the ladies' junior championship. Both were won, by Brougham Hill, so that tlio club is champion for the season in both divisions. The results were as.follow:— Brougham Hill senior ladies defeated Wellington by five rubbers to one. In the detailed score following the names of the Brougham Hill ladies are mentioned first:— Singles.—Mrs. Goldi" lost to Miss Travers, 4—6, 3—6; Miss Davis defeated Mrs. Grady, 6 —l, 6—2; Mrs. W. E. Howe defeated Miss Plimmer, 6—l, 6—5; Miss Morgan defeated Miss Hannah, 3 —6, 6 —3, 6 —4 Doubles.—Mrs. Goldie and Miss Davis defeated Mrs. Grady and Miss Travers, 6 —5, 6 —3; Mrs. Howe and Miss Morgan defeated Misses Plimmer and Hannah, 6—5, 6—5. Brougham Hill junior ladies defeated Neivtown by 36 games to 25 games. In the detailed scores following the names of the Brougham Hill ladies are given first: — v Singles.—Miss E. Stevens lost to Miss Printzen, 6 —7; Miss Sinclair defeated! Miss M'Lean, 7 —o; Miss' Hunt lost to Miss Jenkins, 3 —7; Miss Miller defeated Miss Veitch, 7—2. Doubles.—Misses _ Stevens and Sinclair lost to Misses Printzen and M'Lean, 6—7; Misses Hunt and Miller defeated Misses Jenkins and Veitch, 7—2. In the men's senior championship, Victoria College defeated Wellington by four games, arid so qualified to meet the Brougham Hill representatives in the final next Saturday.
