The mine manager's report for the week ended February 27 at the Weihi Beefs-, Gigantic Consolidation, Ltd.,. states:— I The 'contractor for crosscuts At 1000 feet level is pushing steadily on with the -work. The progress for the week in north face Is 24 feet and Bouth-e*6t face 17 feet, making total advance 41 feet. The north crosscut now measures 259 feet from the 6haft, and is penetrating firm country intermixed with patches of pyritis. The south-east face ie in changeable andesite, hands of mineral and small friable veins of quartz formation being passed through at intervals, and both faces seem to be favourable for the existence of quarti bodies. All the machinery is working smoothly, and there is no increase of water for pump to lift.
